Architectural & Natural Treasures of Hvar Island
This art project is a revival of a former Hungarian-Croatian art camp (for adults and teenagers), which operated for several decades until the death of the art collector and organizer Károly (“Karlo”) Molnár Jelsán. Organizer Tunde Eneh Odor also came to Jelsa for the first time at his invitation and has been living on the island for 4 years now.
The participants of the art camp are professional and amateur artists from Hungary and the island of Hvar, as well as other parts of Croatia.
The camp leader plans and prepares the full-day program himself, coordinates with local cultural organizations, organizes logistics and leads the workshops.
The name of the program also reveals that the camp will have a specific theme, which the participants will approach from a visual art perspective under the careful guidance of Tunde Eneh Odor.
During the one-week camp, participants will get to know the architectural and natural treasures of the island of Hvar through guided creations.
Weekly camp program-taster (4×1 week, from Saturday to Friday):
Day 1 (Saturday): Camp opening + Workshop 1: “Impressions of the Old Town” – painting in the historical center of the city – Vrboska
Day 2: “Thousands of a Century” plein air painting – visit to one of the oldest settlements on the island – Pitve
Day 3: “Musical Inspirations” – abstract painting with live music (work by Antun Dobronić, the island’s former composer, performed by cellist Ódor Csillag) – Vrboska
Day 4: “Muses of Poetry” plein air painting – visit and creation in the Petar Hektorović Museum Garden – Stari Grad
Day 5: “Art on the Island in the Past and Present” – visit to the Stari Grad Museum and the St. Jerome Chapel-Gallery, then drawing this fabulous old chapel surrounded by the sea in high quality artist oil pastel with chalk. – Stari Grad
Day 6: “Roses of the Island of Hvar” Visiting chapels with rose windows, then textile painting – rosettes on a canvas bag – Jelsa, Vrboska
Day 7: “Architectural Heritage of the Island of Hvar” – photo collage + “Island Inspirations” independent work + closing ceremony – Vrboska

In July, an online exhibition of selected works made during the 4 weeks will open.
The education (workshop guidance), the workshop location, and the painting tools and materials are free for the participants.
Museum entrance fees are the responsibility of the participants.
The maximum number of people per week is 12.
